It struck me and at the time I also used the phrase “punch in the pit of the stomach”.

NEWS.AT: Were you really disappointed to be ranked back by the Greens? Öllinger: It hit me and at the time I also used the phrase “punch in the pit of the stomach”. At the same time, I also understand the desire for renewal. Of course, it is difficult for me that the FPÖ immediately used it to cheer about my alleged dismantling. But I am now convinced that it will not happen that way, that I will move back into the National Council.

NEWS.AT: You are also conducting a preferential election campaign for this. Öllinger: The quorum for preferential votes in Austria is absurdly high. The preferential voting order costs more votes than a mandate would actually need. That alone shows the absurdity of this system. But I also lead it to give those people who want to support my work an opportunity to express this in their choice.

FPÖ boss Heinz-Christian Strache

apparently only considers government cooperation between his party and the SPÖ to be feasible. Because only two coalition variants are “realistic in the implementation” – namely a government from SPÖ and ÖVP or one from SPÖ and FPÖ, as the party leader said at a press conference. “A third partner is not visible,” he said about a possible three-way variant from ÖVP, FPÖ and Team Stronach.

Because the Stronach team was “built on sand”, said Strache. You can see “how seriously you can take it,” he said, referring to the current internal squabbles in the new party. And for NEOS, their supporter Hans-Peter Haselsteiner would have already ruled out a collaboration with the FPÖ. Should there be neither red-black nor red-blue, he actually only sees the possibility of a new election, said Strache.free essays 123

Hope for a rethink at Roten

Strache therefore continues to hope for a rethink in the SPÖ: It would be time for the SPÖ to end the “stupid exclusion” of the FPÖ and start negotiations. “If Mr. Faymann is not willing”, then he will have to explain this to the population. He also referred to voices in the Social Democrats who advocated negotiations with the Freedom Party.

Regarding the question of the consent of the Freedom Party to constitutional matters in parliament, Strache once again emphasized that his group insisted on the rapid implementation of minority rights when setting up parliamentary committees of inquiry. This is an “open SPÖ promise”, the FPÖ would not accept another blockade and could lead to a “self-blockade” by the coming government.

Talks with all opposition parties

This minority right could be implemented in parliament even before a government is formed, said Strache. The FP boss now wants to start talks with the bosses of all opposition parties. It is important to “set up the axis of the opposition”. In addition to the well-known demands for his party’s participation in government – i.a. Expansion of direct democracy, steps in administrative reform – the party leader also called a cash fall and a shortening of the legislative period to four years.

Strache also criticized a meeting of radical Islamic Salafists in Vienna planned for the weekend. The “hate preachers” should be arrested and expelled upon arrival, according to the FP chief.

There will be no red-blue, but even red-black will not live long without concessions to blue or green for constitutional majorities. If there are committees of inquiry into the minority rights demanded by Blue-Green, the Chancellor will soon have to face such a question and answer, which should give rise to suspicions or confirm new elections.

Because the Focus figures are calculated on the basis of the official list prices, the parties’ actual advertising expenditure may also be lower. In any case, the SPÖ continues to emphasize that it has adhered to the upper election campaign cost limit of EUR 7 million. At the

Team Stronach

it says that the billing is not yet ready, but that one hopes to have stayed below the upper limit.

“We are among the seven million,” emphasized an SPÖ spokesman. He points out that the Focus figures are calculated on the basis of official list prices for advertisements, posters, etc. and do not take into account discounts granted. He also emphasizes that the SPÖ had to put up many posters (both triangular stands and larger posters) itself and did not have to pay any rental costs for them.

Team Stronach federal manager Ronald Bauer also appears for over 10 million euros for advertisements and posters Co “very high”. According to Bauer, it is not yet clear whether the party has adhered to the election campaign cost limit because not all of the bills have been received. I still hope that we are among them, “said Bauer. The party’s aim was in any case to adhere to the electoral cost limit. During the election campaign there were contradicting statements in this regard.

However, the parties only have to submit their statement of election campaign costs in one year, together with the statement of accounts for 2013. However, political scientist Hubert Sickinger, who specializes in party financing, points out that the Focus figures by no means include all costs that the parties allocate according to the law have to reckon with the “election advertising expenditure” capped at seven million euros.

The statutory election campaign costs include posters and advertisements Co namely also the expenses for additional staff, for election events as well as for campaign gifts and for direct mail. In the worst-case scenario, the latter is a considerable cost: A letter to all 6.4 million eligible voters costs a good one million euros according to the postal tariff (“Sponsoring Post”). Also not included in the Focus figures are the posters put up by the parties themselves (especially the triangular stands).

Just as people are “tricked” with election campaign costs, so is our national debt. At the moment, the following are guaranteed by law, – Mainly for party members and civil servants: 3 times our overall economic output in one year for high pensions and social benefits! How long can that go well? (In the near future € 300 billion national and state debt)

The

Coalition negotiations

have been officially opened since Tuesday afternoon. The so-called coordination group around the party leaders Werner Faymann (SPÖ) and Michael Spindelegger (ÖVP) met in parliament for their constituent session to determine the exact course of the talks. There were no comments when they arrived, nor were there any opportunities to film the negotiation sextet at the discussion table.

The round is scheduled for around two hours. Afterwards, Faymann and Spindelegger want to announce details on the design of the negotiation process. It is clear that there are a total of 13 main negotiators divided into eight groups. These revolve around economy, finance, social affairs, education, “future”, foreign policy, security and law as well as state reform.

Six men meet in the coordination team. In addition to the party leaders, there are Social Minister Rudolf Hundstorfer and State Secretary Josef Ostermayer on the SPÖ side and State Secretary Reinhold Lopatka and Jochen Danninger, Spindelegger’s cabinet chief, on the ÖVP. This sextet should control the entire process. The sub-groups should start their work tomorrow so that the large group will already have the first information at their first meeting next week.
